To Build up global R&D Hub, MOST welcomes the world to join 2022 TIE Award with the support from Taiwan semiconductor industry

2022 TIE aims to attract worldwide R&D talents and technology in Taiwan

Taiwan Innotech Expo (TIE) 2022 will take place from October 13 to 15. In order to build Taiwan as the global R&D hub, Ministry of science and Technology promotes” Inbound: Attract overseas talents to come to Taiwan” strategy and hosts Tech Innovation Excellence Award (TIE Award) to facilitate interaction and match-making between startups, research institutes and industry.

 

Under Inbound Strategy, TIE Award teams up with Taiwan semiconductor industry and calls for global proposals

TIE Award is a contest organized by Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) which offers a stage to celebrate cutting-edge global technologies. We would like to invite startups, research institutions and legal person to gather in Taiwan, showing their innovations and grabbing the chance to work with Taiwanese tech giants.

 

The first TIE Award cooperates with Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA), Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI), Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI) to help teams attend the physical exhibition in Taiwan to connect with local industry and boost further cooperation.

 

The award will focus on innovations in the categories: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), Sensors, Energy Efficiency & Energy Saver, Communications/ Satellite Technologies, Smart Manufacturing, Autonomous Cars, Renewable Energy, and others. With 3 main review criteria “Application innovation”,  “Value creation” and “Local integration”,  10 teams will be selected eventually.

 

Award Benefits and other details

The total prize of TIE Award is more than USD 100,000. The first-place winner will be award USD 30,000; USD 20,000 for the second-place winner; USD 10,000 for the third-place winner; and USD 7,000 as the jury special prize for nearly 7 teams. Winners will also have the opportunity to receive global promotion resources as well as assistances form Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA), TSRI, and most important of all, the opportunity to cooperate with leading high-tech companies from Taiwan.
