The Midwest Chinese American Science and Technology Association (MCASTA) celebrated the 28th Annual Symposium on Sep. 10, 2011

After organizing for months, the 2011 (28th) Annual MCASTA Symposium was held at J. C. Penny Conference Center, University of Missouri, St. Louis, MO on September 10. This one-day program includes three plenary speeches, including the excellent keynote speech given by Dr. Yio-Wha R. Shau, Director of Biomedical Technology and Device Research Laboratories (BTDRL), Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute (TITRI). He introduced the newly findings and the future directions of the research studies of BTDRL (TITRI). There were two current sessions, each one had two programs running at the same time. One is more technical related while the other concerns more about the culture and family matters. This year, the MCASTA also elected two Outstanding Scholar Award Winners, Dr. Da-Ren Chen, Washington University in St. Louis and Dr. Yie-Hwa Chang, Saint Louis University Medical School. The awards were presented to both of them during the banquet. http://www.mcata.org
