About HUST
Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) was established in 1956. Over half century, HUST has been continuously growing and making considerable contributions to the industrialization and modernization process of the country.A large number of scientists and highly qualified engineers, who obtained various academic degrees of Eng., MSc. And PhD. at HUST, have been working effectively in various political, cultural and social fields and science & technology development throughout the country. The obvious achievements in training and research undertaken at HUST and their application to production activities, have contributed significantly to flourishing national technologies.Over the last decade, Vietnam has embarked upon a radical and comprehensive process of economic and social reform. Based on half century of tradition, HUST has been creative and dynamic in this process, and has become a centre of academic excellence. It will make more contribution to socio-economic development, industrialization, and modernization of the country.The development of HUST has been linked with strong support from the Government, great efforts by HUST staff and students from generation to generation, and especially with wholehearted assistance from international organizations and individuals. Our friends and colleagues in the world have supported us not only in building up infrastructure and facilities but also in human resource development. Over the years, international cooperation programmes have brought to the university staff of high academic standards and competence in traning, research, and management activities, which has accelerated the process of integration of HUST into the university community within the region, and all over the world.
Scientific Research
HUT is an important centre for scientific research and technology transfer activities. Scientific research work at HUT mainly concentrates on projects to develop and apply related scientific achievements and technology transfer to the national economy. The university is the organiser and makes significant contributions to a number of state research programmes. In addition, hundreds of economic and technical contracts have been signed and carried out successfully between Hanoi University of Technology and many institutions and companies. Many science and technology projects have been awarded high prizes within the country and the region. All scientific research works are undertaken in the institutes, research centres, and faculties, but priority is given to the following fields:
- Information Technology.
- Biotechnology.
- Materials Science and Technology.
- Electronics and Telecommunications.
- New Materials.
Particular attention has been paid to the students' scientific activities. Many students have gained prizes at the Scientific Conference held annually at the university. The university periodical of scientific research is published every quarter. This journal is the forum for scientists and students to share experiences and exchange information.
International Cooperation Activities
