The Institute has two campuses: Chumporn Campus was founded at Pa-thiw District, Chumphon Province to extend academic development and opportunities to students and the provide academic services for the public in the nearby areas with the use of distance learning. Furthermore, the Proposed Rayong Campus aims to extend educational opportunities and to provide academic services to the community.

In order to gain international recognition, KMITL has placed emphasis on fostering relationships and substantial technical cooperation with various institutions abroad.
KMITL has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with academic institutions in the following countries:
Such collaboration provides opportunities for both staff and student exchange programs which leads to strengthening the institute’s capabilities in education and research, and allows the introduction of joint-degree programs, research programs, etc.
International conferences, training programs and workshops have been organized regularly.
The group training course in Telecommunications Technology, jointly supported by the Royal Thai Government and the Government of Japan, has been organized annually since 1978. This three-month training course attracts about 20 Telecommunications engineers from the majority of the countries in
