Brief Introduction of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology

 

 

King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology separated into three autonomous Universities namely:

 

     King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang

      King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Thonburi

      King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology North Bangkok

 

I. King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL):

A. Overview:

KMITL aims to provide education, to promote research and development in science and technology for the industrial and economic development of Thailand, and to instill a desire to serve society in students.

Goals: To provide education and to develop human resources in the fields of science and technology

  • Vision
    To be the institutional leader in the fields of research, science and technology towards an international standard.
  • Mission : Mission of Institute's Act consist of 5 Categories :

        - Prodution of Graduates 

   - Researching

   - Academics and Community Services

   - Preserve Thai art and Culture

   - Administration and Governance

 

B.Basic Information:

At present, the Institute consists of 8 Faculties:

The Institute has two campuses: Chumporn Campus was founded at Pa-thiw District, Chumphon Province to extend academic development and opportunities to students and the provide academic services for the public in the nearby areas with the use of distance learning. Furthermore, the Proposed Rayong Campus aims to extend educational opportunities and to provide academic services to the community.

3. International Activities:

 

In order to gain international recognition, KMITL has placed emphasis on fostering relationships and substantial technical cooperation with various institutions abroad.

 

KMITL has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with academic institutions in the following countries: Austria, Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Japan, Laos, Philippines, United Kingdom, U.S.A. and Vietnam.

Such collaboration provides opportunities for both staff and student exchange programs which leads to strengthening the institute’s capabilities in education and research, and allows the introduction of joint-degree programs, research programs, etc.

International conferences, training programs and workshops have been organized regularly.

 The group training course in Telecommunications Technology, jointly supported by the Royal Thai Government and the Government of Japan, has been organized annually since 1978. This three-month training course attracts about 20 Telecommunications engineers from the majority of the countries in Asia and the Pacific.

These international activities have strengthened the Institute’s potentiality in order to be an accredited well-known institute towards the international level.

Mission:

III. King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Thonburi

A. Overview:

 

KMUTT up as a semi-autonomous university, responsible for its own planning, budgeting and management, though still accountable to the government.

KMUTT aims to be a high-ranking research university among Asian universities

 

The main objectives are to produce undergraduate and graduate students in technological fields, conduct research into high technology and transfer new technology to private industry and business.
