1. Background

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) is a new ministry created by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Office of the Higher Education Commission, the National Research Council of Thailand and the Thailand Research Fund, with the government recognizing the importance of promoting and overseeing higher education institutions and related agencies. Therefore develop people to have skills that are in line with national development, including supervision, research and innovation development.

2.   Duty and power 

(1) Promoting, supporting, and supervising higher education to keep up with global changes With academic independence and management To have the development of manpower in line with the needs of the country And to carry out research and create innovations for the development of communities, societies and countries, both in science, technology, social sciences, humanities and interdisciplinary

(2) Promoting, supporting, and supervising research and innovation of higher education institutions And departments in the research and innovation systems that are under the Ministry or supervision of the Minister Including coordination with agencies in the research and innovation systems outside the Ministry for cooperation. And proceed in the direction that is linked and in line with national science, research and innovation policies and strategies

(3) provide ecological systems and important infrastructure for higher education development, science, research and innovation As well as promoting cooperation to produce specialized high-level manpower And cooperation in research and innovation with government agencies, private sectors, local administrative organizations And individuals or agencies abroad

(4) To perform other duties that are prescribed by law to be duties and powers of the Ministry.
