Promoted by Germany's Industry 4.0 and U.S. Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (AMP), advanced manufacturing technology has been an attractive engineering focus when it comes to the burgeoning fields of emerging technologies. Despite the excessive media coverage, how the development and the core competence of advanced manufacturing technology help to improve the competitiveness of Taiwan's industries is the most important issue.       

Promotion Program on Advanced Digital Twin and Intelligent Robotics of Manufacturing Integration Technology improves systematic technologies on advanced manufacturing technology in Taiwan through collaborative research and development of high-level digital manufacturing and design, and high-value advanced manufacturing system integration from academia, industries, and corporate research and development institutions. More importantly, it enables more advanced technologies generated by our national academic research and development teams in terms of feasibility and marketability.

The plan aims to combine digital twin technology, artificial intelligence, edge computing technology, intelligent compound processing technology, and human-robot coordination technology to achieve the benefits of cross-domain integration, and ultimately encourage the actual application of research results to the manufacturing field.

By subsidizing research institutions to research the potential of smart manufacturing, the program develops intelligent robots, enhances the added value of Taiwan's manufacturing industry and machining equipment, cultivates smart manufacturing talents, assists Taiwan's manufacturing industry to cope with future technological challenges, and promotes domestic economic growth in the long run.
