In order to improve information security technology in the industrial internet of things (IIoT) and to create an IIoT security protection field, the project is aimed to several tasks such as the implementation of industry information security standards, the establishment of information security verification field, and to drill offense and defense, etc. The goal of the project is to strengthen the security protection capabilities of smart manufacturing and semiconductor process fields, to improve the security supply chain of IIoT, to improve information security capabilities in smart manufacturing, semiconductors, industrial control, and information security industries, and to integrate academic and research resources capability.             

In addition, the cross-field cooperation teams composed of the professors with expertise in smart manufacturing/semiconductors and the professors in the field of information security are formed to share the domain knowledge of each other. The integration of the academia and consortium resources could enhance the research energy and could develop the advanced manufacturing technology together with information security technique such that these techniques could be implemented in IoT application field. During the execution of the project, the researchers with expertise in smart manufacturing and information security will be cultivated simultaneously. The technological development will be carried out to respond promptly to the future information security risks faced by the manufacturers. The project is expected to shorten the gap between industry and academia.
