According to the Establishment Guidelines for the Office of Science and Technology Policy, the Office is responsible for the following:

1.Develop comprehensive national science and technology policy.

2.Plan for the overall allocation of science and technology resources.

3.Integrate and coordinate major cross-ministry policy programs.

4.Organize major technology strategy meetings.

5.Collect and analyze technology development trends.

6.Support decision-making and management in the field of science and technology.
