1. The Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology at the National Taiwan University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, or PROFESSOR level:
(1) Employment start date: August 1, 2026.
(2) Teaching and research fields: 1. Plant Bacteriology; 2. Molecular Plant Pathology; Subfield: Applied Microbiology.
2. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree; candidates with relevant postdoctoral research and teaching experience will receive priority consideration.
3. Applicants should submit a cover letter indicating the position level, the title of one representative publication, as well as the names and contact information of two referees. Please provide five hard copies and one electronic file of the following documents:
(1) Cover letter.
(2) Curriculum vitae.
(3) Documents verifying your doctoral degree and others relevant to support your application. Foreign degrees must be authenticated by a Taiwan embassy, consulate, or representative office.
(4) Publication list.
(5) Teaching plans (courses and syllabi, the courses in the aforementioned fields must be offered).
(6) Research plans.
(7) One representative publication: The representative publication must be an original research article published in a SCI journal after August 1, 2021, with the applicant being the first or corresponding author. Applicants to the Assistant Professor level may submit their doctoral dissertation as the representative publication. In such cases, transcripts from both undergraduate and graduate studies must be included; if the institution does not require coursework, an official certification must be provided instead. The representative publication must correspond to the declared field of expertise. If the representative publication has co-authors, the applicant must submit the form “National Taiwan University Verification of Co-author’s Contribution to the Applicant’s Representative Publication” (https://pse.is/83w2er) for review.
(8) Maximum 10 reference publications published after August 1, 2019.
4. Two recommendation letters should be directly emailed to clchung@ntu.edu.tw (cc: ppm@ntu.edu.tw) or by hard copy no later than January 5, 2026. Candidates who wish to apply for the Assistant Professor Level should provide a recommendation letter from their Ph.D. dissertation advisor.
