The Center for Survey Research at Academia Sinica invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Research Specialist or above.
📌 Responsibilities
The position involves assisting the Center’s faculty members with their research by conducting data mining, knowledge extraction, and data analysis. Specific responsibilities include:
1.Analyzing the content, dissemination, and evolution of online public opinion.
2.Applying big data analytics and artificial intelligence methods in social science research.
3.Developing computational systems to enhance the sharing of knowledge and its social impact.
📌 Qualification
1.Applicants must meet the qualifications specified in Article 3 of the Employment Review Guidelines for Academia Sinica Research Specialists. Non-Taiwanese applicants with Chinese language proficiency are preferred.
2.A doctoral degree in a relevant field is preferred.
3.Areas of expertise: Information Science, Data Science, Social Science, Statistics, or related disciplines.
4.Technical experiences and skills in artificial intelligence methods, such as computer vision, natural language processing, and large multimodal models.
5.Familiarity with data structures and database technologies.
6.Experience in planning, executing, and managing research projects and laboratory work.
7.Demonstrated insight and enthusiasm for academic research.
8.Strong logical communication skills, creativity, and a willingness to embrace challenges.

This may be a doctoral or master’s degree certificate, or official documentation certifying the completion of coursework and successful dissertation defense.

5.Representative publications or technical reports published after Jan. 1, 2020:
If the original work is in a language other than Chinese or English, an abstract in Chinese or English must be provided, with a length of no less than 3,000 words, or at least one-fifth of the original text.
If the representative publication is the result of a collaborative research effort, please describe the applicant’s contributions in theory and method.
