Postdoctoral Researcher Position

AI Control System Intelligence (ACSI) Laboratory Department of Automatic Control Engineering, Feng Chia University, Taichung, Taiwan

【Job Description】
The AI Control System Intelligence (ACSI) Laboratory at the Department of Automatic Control Engineering, Feng Chia University, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position funded by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), Taiwan.

The successful candidate will participate in cutting-edge research on Generative Artificial Intelligence, Vision-Language Models (VLMs), Vision-Language-Action (VLA), Embodied AI, Intelligent Vehicles, Autonomous Systems, and Intelligent Robotics.

Research topics include:
• Vision-Language Models (VLMs)、Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs), and Vision-Language-Action (VLA)
• AI Agents, World Models, Memory-based AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and other Generative AI technologies
• AI perception, decision-making, and control for autonomous driving, ADAS, intelligent vehicles, and intelligent robotics

【Qualifications】
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
1. Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automatic Control, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or related fields.
2. Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++.
Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Familiarity with Linux development environments, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision.
3. Strong research motivation, the ability to conduct independent research, and excellent teamwork skills.

【Preferred Qualifications】
Candidates with one or more of the following qualifications are preferred:
1. Publications in leading journals or conferences, such as IEEE Transactions, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICRA, IROS, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, AAAI, and IJCAI.
2. Experience with state-of-the-art AI frameworks and models, including Hugging Face, Transformers, Diffusers, LLaVA, Qwen, InternVL, OpenVLA, Isaac Lab, and ROS2.
3. Experience in developing Generative AI applications or Large Foundation Models is highly desirable.

【Salary and Benefits】
1. Monthly salary ranges from NT$60,685 to NT$73,075, depending on qualifications and experience.
2. The initial appointment is one year. Renewal for a second year and possible salary adjustment will be based on research performance and project evaluation.
3. Benefits include Labor Insurance, National Health Insurance, Labor Pension, and year-end bonus in accordance with Feng Chia University.
