Full-time, Project Teaching Position Available
Department of Chinese Literature
National Chung Hsing University, Taichung, Taiwan

Offered position: Assistant Professor or higher ranks
Vacancy available: 1
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree.
Applicants for Assistant Professorship: in accordance with the University’s recruitment policy.
Applicants for Associate Professorship: at least one project funded by National Science and Technology Council, and in accordance with the University’s recruitment policy.
Applicants for Professorship: at least two projects funded by National Science and Technology Council, and in accordance with the University’s recruitment policy.
In addition to projects funded by National Science and Technology Council, projects could also include other projects of original academic research which does not belong to the applicant’s university.

Application deadline: March 17, 2026 (via post, evidence by postmark)

Appointment starts on February 1, 2027.

Professional Specialty: Chinese Literature
Courses expected to teach: College Chinese, etc.

Qualifications:
1. Experienced in teaching “College Chinese” relevant courses. (relevant certificates must be attached)
2. Preferred Qualifications:
(1) Ability to teach in English (relevant certificates must be attached).
(2) Have engaged in teaching relevant project executed by university and have had specific performances. (relevant certificates must be attached)
(3) Chinese teacher’s certificate of junior/senior high school, instructor level or above issued by the Ministry of Education.

Duties:
1. Courses are expected to teach:
(1) College Chinese
(2) Courses of Departments of College of Liberal Arts
(3) University-wide common courses
Teach 16 hours per week.
2. Assisting in teaching relevant project and administrative works of Department of Chinese Literature.

Documents required:
(1) A curriculum vitae (no restrictions in format)
(2) Application form (Appendix 1)
(3) A list of writings (achievements or teaching materials) (Appendix 2)
(4) A photocopy of Teacher’s certificate from Ministry of Education (optional)
(5) A photocopy of Ph.D. diploma and official transcripts--- (all documents must be translated into Chinese)
Diploma and transcript must be attested by Taiwan Embassy or Taiwan representative office in/near applicants’ country if they hold their doctoral degree in foreign countries but without having teaching certificates from the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. (Applicants, even though cleared by the committee, would still have to submit necessary certifications within 3 months if certifications are not enclosed at the time of application.)
(6) A photocopy of certificate of current∕past academic position or employment--- (all documents must be translated into Chinese)
(7) Samples of representative and reference writings (one copy of each)
(8) Syllabus (Appendix 3)
(9) Resume (electronic file) (Appendix 4)
