The Department of Bio-Industry Communication and Development is an academic unit within the College of Bioresources and Agriculture, National Taiwan University. The department dedicates research and teaching on communication and development studies of agriculture and bio-industry. The Department of Bio-Industry Communication and Development is dedicated to supporting Taiwan’s agricultural sector in navigating the transition toward globalization. With its interdisciplinary background of agriculture sciences and social sciences, the Department serves as a bridge between agricultural production and its application to society and industry. Research areas include the theory and practice of marketing communication, communication technology, and the development of societal wellbeing. Courses offered help students to understand rural society changes, agricultural transformation, and global outlook. The Department aims to develop professionals in the area of marketing and communication, as well as contribute to the improvement of the quality of rural life and economic development of society.
