National University of Tainan, Department of Applied Mathematics Faculty Position Announcement (Full-time)

1. Position
One full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or above.
2. Expected Starting Date
February 1, 2027, or August 1, 2027.
3. Qualifications
(1) Education:
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied
Mathematics, Data Science, Mathematics Education, or related fields from a
university or independent college recognized by the Ministry of Education.
Applicants who are doctoral candidates will not be considered.
(2) Areas of Expertise:
Specialization in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or
Mathematics Education. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in
Statistics or Mathematics Education.
(3) Academic Performance:
Applicants must have published at least one SCI(E), SSCI, or TSSCI journal article,
an equivalent domestic/international academic journal article, or an academic
monograph within the past five years (after June 2021).
(4) Teaching Requirement:
Applicants must be capable of teaching courses in English and are required to offer at least one English-Medium Instruction (EMI) course per semester.
4. Required Application Materials
(1) Completed application forms, including:
• “NUTN Faculty Application Form” (Appendix 1)
• “Department of Applied Mathematics Academic Summary Form” (Appendix 2)
• “Consent Form for Personal Data Collection” (Appendix 3)
• Declaration regarding household registration, passport, ID card, permanent
residence certificate, or residence permit in Mainland China (Appendix 4)
Both hard copies and electronic files of the above documents must be submitted.
(2) Copies of diplomas and transcripts for all degrees (Bachelor’s and above), doctoral dissertation, and teaching certificate (if available).
(3) Applicants holding a foreign Ph.D. degree must have their diploma and transcripts authenticated by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas representative office, along with a Certificate of Entry and Exit Dates (issued by the National Immigration Agency).
(4) Curriculum vitae, including education, professional experience, areas of expertise, publication list, Research Statement and Future Research Directions. For co-authored publications, please use an asterisk (*) to indicate the corresponding author.
(5) Offprints or photocopies of academic publications published or accepted within the past five years (two copies each). Each publication must include proof of journal ranking. For SCI(E), SSCI, TSSCI, or equivalent journals, please refer to: https://reurl.cc/89lXYo
(6) Course syllabi for potential courses based on the department’s curriculum structure.
(7) A list of past research projects (participated in or led) and any additional supporting documents that may strengthen the application.
5. Application Deadline
From now until September 30, 2026 (Wednesday). Applications are accepted based on the postmark date. Applications delivered in person will not be accepted.

8. Notes
(1) Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview and required to give a teaching demonstration in English.
(2) Newly appointed faculty members are required to undertake administrative duties for at least two years and assist with departmental administrative affairs.
(3) If the number of applicants is fewer than ten, the application period may be extended if necessary.
(4) Applications that are incomplete or submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
(5) Submitted materials will not be returned. If applicants wish to have their publications returned, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
