NSTC Project Title|The Rise of Generative AI: Adoption, Dependency, and Hallucinations

About the Project
This research investigates how users adopt, depend on, and experience “hallucinations” with Generative AI from the perspective of communication and social sciences. We integrate survey research, quantitative modeling, qualitative methods, and big data analytics to produce high-impact academic and policy insights.

Open Positions & Qualifications
•1 PhD-level RA, 1 Master-level RA (must be full-time enrolled students)
•Background in communication or social science research methods, with strong interest in new communication technologies and social impacts
•Quantitative skills: survey design, data cleaning, statistical analysis; proficient in SPSS and SEM
• Preferred/plus skills:
oExperience in big data / text analysis (Python, R)
oQualitative research experience (interviews, coding)
oStrong English reading, writing, and communication
skills
oApplicants with clear academic career aspirations will
be given priority
Responsibilities
• Literature review and synthesis
• Data analysis (survey, modeling, text/big data, or qualitative coding)
• Research administration (IRB processes, file management, meeting notes, project coordination)
