The Department of Applied Mathematics at the National University of Tainan invites applications for one full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor or above. Applicants should demonstrate strong research potential and enthusiasm for teaching. Details are as follows:

4.Qualifications
(1)Education:
Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related fields from a university or independent institute recognized by the Ministry of Education (Taiwan).
(2)Academic Expertise:
Applicants with specialties in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Finance, or Data Science are welcome to apply.
(3)Academic Achievement:
At least one peer-reviewed journal article published as first author or corresponding author in an SCI(E), SSCI, or TSSCI journal within the past five years (since August 2020).
(4)Teaching Ability:
Applicants should be capable of teaching undergraduate-level courses in Probability and Statistics.
5.Interview Process
(1)Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for an on-site interview.
(2)The interview will include a teaching demonstration in English, covering topics related to Probability and Statistics.

(2)Copies of diplomas and transcripts for Bachelor’s degree and above, Teacher’s Certificate (if not available, please attach Ph.D. dissertation), and a copy of the front and back of your National ID Card (or equivalent).
(3)For applicants with foreign Ph.D. degrees, please include:
。Verified copies of degree certificates and transcripts certified by a Taiwan Overseas Representative Office.
。Entry and exit records for Taiwan.
(4)Curriculum Vitae, including:
。Educational background, areas of expertise
。Research interests and future research plan
。List of publications (clearly mark first author or corresponding author using an asterisk “*” where applicable)
(5)Offprints or photocopies of academic journal publications published or accepted in the past five years, two copies of each.

(6)Proposed syllabi of courses the applicant is capable of teaching, referring to the department’s current program structures.
(7)A list of past or ongoing research projects and any additional materials that may support your application.
(8)A copy of your military discharge certificate or exemption, if applicable.
7. Additional Notes
(1)If fewer than 10 applicants apply, the application period may be extended.
(2)To comply with the university’s EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) policy, newly appointed faculty members are required to teach at least one course in English per semester.
(3)Faculty members are expected to undertake at least two years of administrative service within the university and assist with departmental duties.
(4)Late or incomplete applications will not be processed.
(5)All materials submitted will not be returned. If applicants wish to retrieve any publications, please enclose a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage.
(6)Any falsification, forgery, or misrepresentation in application materials will result in disqualification. The applicant shall bear full legal responsibility.
