The Department of Power Mechanical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University is seeking research assistants under the National Science Council Grant Program

The Department of Power Mechanical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan invites outstanding individuals to apply for multiple Research Assistant positions focusing on the creation of a one-of-a-kind 3D probing system for live-cell experiments in aqueous solutions, in which the microprobe is propelled and controlled by a unique hexapole electromagnetic actuator, enabling ultraprecise untethered manipulation, rapid scanning of cell geometry, precise control of probe-sample interaction force, and rapid imaging of the spatial distribution of cell viscoelasticity.

Research assistants will work with the Principal Investigator and graduate students in the laboratory. Responsibilities fall into three categories: 1) opto-mechatronic integration, 2) digital control theory, Kalman filter estimators and implementation using FPGA, and 3) optical microscope operation and living cell experiments.

A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s level) is preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered. Interested candidates should send their applications to Professor C. H. Menq at chmenq@mx.nthu.edu.tw.
