- Position: Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor
- Qualifications: Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in the social sciences or humanities. Applicants who have not yet received their doctoral degree at the time of application must submit an official provisional certificate of degree completion issued by their university or department before the application deadline.
- Areas of Specialization: Applicants with expertise in one or more of the following fields are preferred:
- China Studies
- East Asian Culture Studies
- Development Studies
- Technology Policy and Governance
- Interdisciplinary scholars, quantitative methodologists, and those who can teach in English, are especially encouraged to apply

- Required Application Materials: Applicants must submit the following documents via email in a single pdf file (incomplete applications by the deadline will not be considered):
(1) A scan of your doctoral degree certificate, current employment or affiliation, and any other supporting documents for proof of academic or professional experience
(2) If already obtained, a scan of your Taiwan Ministry of Education teacher certificate (if not yet obtained, please ignore for now).
(3) Curriculum vitae (including a full list of publications).
(4) A copy of your doctoral dissertation (please include an abstract in Chinese), one main representative publication completed within the past five years (after August 2021), and other reference publications completed within the past seven years (after August 2019).
If your main representative publication is coauthored, a coauthorship certification form must be provided (please email to request this form).
Applicants currently at the rank of Associate Professor are exempt from submitting the dissertation and abstract.
(5) Two (2) letters of recommendation (to be sent directly by the referees to the Institute, either as a hard copy mailed to the office or as an electronic file to the contact person’s email).
(6) One copy of graduate transcripts for master’s and doctoral coursework (if unavailable, please provide proof of coursework completion). Applicants currently at the rank of Associate Professor are exempt.
(7) A statement of research interests, future research and teaching plans (one document).
(8) Other relevant materials demonstrating teaching and research effectiveness (e.g., teaching evaluations, course syllabi).
(9) Completed “Basic Information Form for New Faculty Applicants” form (see below)
- Application Method: Except for the recommendation letters, all required materials should be compiled as single PDF file and sent via email to Ms. Li at liyiyin@ntu.edu.tw. If the total file size exceeds 25 MB, please upload the files to a cloud drive and provide a download link. The email subject line should read: “Faculty Application – Applicant’s Name.”

- Review Process: Applicants who pass the preliminary review will be invited to deliver a public lecture at the Institute. The date and format of the presentation will be announced separately.
