I. Positions: Two full-time faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher.
II. Starting Date:
1.February 1, 2026, for the Applied Linguistics field.
2.August 1, 2026, for the Business English field.
III. Qualifications:
1. Academic Degree:
(1) Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics or Business-related fields recognized by the
Ministry of Education. If the applicant has passed the doctoral dissertation defense but has not yet
received the diploma, a certificate of defense and a letter from the advisor are required.
(2) Applicants with a Ph.D. in a field other than Applied Linguistics or Business must have at least three
years of teaching or research experience at a university or primary/secondary school level, with
supporting documentation.
2. Specializations: Applied Linguistics or Business English.
3. Publications: At least two papers published or accepted in peer-reviewed academic journals since 2016
(proof of acceptance must be provided).
4. Experience:
(1) Priority will be given to those with experience in teacher education or supervising teaching practicums.
(2) Applied Linguistics candidates must be capable of teaching specialized English training courses for
elementary school teachers.
(3) Proficiency in a second foreign language is preferred (priority given to Japanese, Spanish, or German).
IV. Application Deadline:
1.Applications must be submitted by July 2, 2025 (based on postmark). Submit via registered mail or in
person to the Personnel Office, with “Application for Faculty Position in the Department of English –
[○○○○]” clearly marked on the envelope.

V. Required Documents:
1. A copy of each degree certificate from bachelor’s degree and above.

2. A copy of national ID (both sides).

3. Transcripts from master’s and doctoral studies.
4. Two copies of the “Basic Information Form for Faculty Application – NUTN.”
5. Two copies of proof of relevant experience.
6. Two copies of the doctoral dissertation.
7. Two copies of offprints or photocopies of significant academic works published within the past five
years.
8. Two copies of syllabi for courses the applicant can teach, including but not limited to:
(1) Applied Linguistics field: English Composition, Instruction in Children’s Songs and Nursery Rhymes,
Practicum for English Teaching, Teaching Pronunciation, Language Acquisition, and English Teaching
Evaluation.
(2) Business English field: English Composition, Business English I & II, English for Business
Presentations, Journalistic English & International Affairs, English for the Workplace, English for
Finance & Economics, and Advertisements in English.
9. Two copies of any additional materials supporting the review (e.g., teaching certification, proof of
assistant professorship or above).
VI. Notes:
1. Newly hired faculty must undertake administrative duties for two years.
2. New hires must assist in teaching arrangements for the department’s evening division bachelor's
program.
3. Applied Linguistics hires must assist in the elementary school teacher’s English specialization courses.
4. New hires are required to teach one EMI (English-Medium Instruction) course per semester.
5. New faculty are expected to serve as class advisors, supervise student research projects, and assist with
departmental student admissions.
6. Applicants who wish to have their documents returned should provide a self-addressed envelope with
sufficient postage.
