I. Vacancy
One full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or above.
II. Expected Starting Date
August 1, 2027 (subject to administrative processing schedules).
III. Qualifications
1.Education: Ph.D. degree in a related field from a domestic or international university.
2.Academic Expertise: Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in applied theater or drama creation and production.
3.Experience: Experience in playwriting, directing, and acting in drama or theater is preferred.
4.Teaching Subjects: Capable of teaching courses related to Directing, Drama Production and Performance, and Applied Theater.
5.English Proficiency: Must possess the ability to teach courses entirely in English. The successful candidate is obligated to offer at least one all-English or EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) course per semester.
IV. Required Documents
A. Administrative Documents (One copy of each)
1.Consent Form for Providing Personal Data for Applicants for Full-Time (Part-Time) Faculty Positions at NUTN (Attachment 2), and Affidavit for Prospective (Current) Personnel regarding Household Registration, Passport, Identity Card, Resident Certificate, or Residence Permit in Mainland China (Attachment 3).
2.Photocopies of diploma(s) and full academic transcripts for all degrees from the bachelor's level and above.
3.Applicants holding a foreign Ph.D. degree must have their degree certificate and academic transcripts authenticated by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas representative office, and must also provide a certificate of entry and exit.
4.Photocopy of the Teacher's Certificate (Applicants who have not previously applied for accreditation are exempt).
5.One copy of the Ph.D. dissertation.
6.Two letters of recommendation (Applicants who already hold the rank of Professor or Associate Professor are exempt). Letters should be sealed by the recommenders and included with the application materials, or mailed directly to the Department by the recommenders.

B. Evaluation Documents (Three copies, please bind in the following order)
1.Basic Information Form for Faculty Applicants at NUTN (Attachment 1). A digital copy in Word format must also be provided. Please email the digital file to drama-1@pubmail.nutn.edu.tw before the application deadline, with the email subject line: "Application for Full-Time Faculty, Department of Drama Creation and Application - [Applicant's Name]".
2.Photocopies of relevant documents verifying professional experience.
3.mportant monographs, book chapters, and journal articles (must include the journal cover, table of contents, or proof of peer review/acceptance); or relevant materials such as performed/published scripts, photographs of theatrical productions, and performance records.
4.Applicants applying for the rank of Associate Professor or above must submit at least one journal article, book chapter, monograph, or theatrical production from the past five years as a representative work.
5.Statement of research directions.
6.Syllabi for courses the applicant is capable of teaching (or has previously taught).
7.Any other supporting materials beneficial to the evaluation process.
V. Application Period
From now until October 20, 2026. Acceptance is determined by the postmark date (in-person submissions will not be accepted).
VI. Submission Instructions
Hard copies of the documents must be mailed via registered mail to:

Please explicitly indicate "Application for Full-Time Faculty, Department of Drama Creation and Application" on the envelope.
VII. Remarks
1.Candidates selected for an interview will be required to conduct a teaching demonstration entirely in English.
2.Newly appointed faculty members are obligated to concurrently serve in a university administrative role for two years, and to assist in promoting other relevant administrative duties within the Department.
3.If the number of applicants is fewer than 10, the announcement period may be extended as deemed necessary.
4.Applicants must ensure all aforementioned documents are complete prior to submission. Supplementary documents submitted after the application deadline will not be accepted.
5.If applicants wish to have their application materials returned, please enclose a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage.
6.Should any submitted documents be found forged, altered, or otherwise falsified, the applicant's candidacy and admission status will be immediately revoked, and the applicant shall bear full legal responsibility.
