This position sits at the heart of an ambitious research program — "Diagnosing the Novel Biosphere" — that integrates ecological resilience theory, biodiversity informatics, and deep-time climate reconstructions to ask: are ecosystems losing their capacity to recover? Can we build a governance framework that bridges ecosystem novelty and resilience? The successful candidate will contribute to original research with direct relevance to global conservation policy and the 2030 global biodiversity targets.

The postdoc will also help co-organize the Frontiers in Anthropocene Biodiversity Workshop Series — a platform convening leading researchers worldwide to advance cross-disciplinary questions in Anthropocene ecology. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to both high-intensity research and global community-building.

[What You Will Do]

-Develop and lead original research projects aligned with the themes above
-Integrate and analyze global biodiversity, functional trait, and climate/environmental datasets
-Contribute to the planning and execution of the Frontiers in Anthropocene Biodiversity Workshop Series
-Publish in high-impact journals; present at international conferences
-Engage with an active network of international collaborators

[What We Are Looking For]

Required:
PhD in macroecology or a related field (completed or near completion)
Strong quantitative analytical skills
Responsible, intellectually curious, and committed to team goals and collaboration
Proficiency in English

Advantageous:
Familiarity with open biodiversity datasets (e.g., BioShift, BioTIME, remote sensing products)
Experience with species distribution modeling, community ecology, functional trait analysis, or resilience theories
Interest in science communication and cross-sector policy engagement
Willingness to participate in fieldwork

Salary and Benefits:
Annual salary: NTD 900,000–1,100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
