(NYCU DOP/ASIAA) Postdoc or Research Assistant Position: Frequency Reference Cavity for the G-CLEF Telescope

Project Background
This position is part of a major international collaboration aimed at developing an ultra-stable frequency reference for astronomical instrumentation. Related work: Nature Astronomy 9, 589–597 (2025).

Start Date: March 2026 (earlier start possible)

Responsibilities
• Primary task: Use broadband sources (optical frequency comb and supercontinuum source) to measure and characterize the cavity chromatic effect (wavelength-dependent dispersion) and perform data analysis
• Assist PhD students in building an ultra-stable passive Fabry–Pérot cavity (ultra-stable FP cavity)
• Support system setup, frequency stabilization, and optimization of measurement workflows

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience are strongly encouraged to apply:
• Hands-on experience with laser systems and optical alignment
• Experiences with optical cavities and laser locking / frequency stabilization techniques
• Experience with molecular frequency references, frequency-comb measurements, or precision optical metrology

Work Location & Opportunities
• Work locations: Academia Sinica (Dr. Shiang-Yu Wang lab) and NYCU Hsinchu (Prof. Tzu-Ling Chen lab)
• Strong performance may lead to opportunities for international collaboration and travel

Salary: Based on the Academia Sinica pay scale
