Faculty Recruitment Announcement in Department of Education, College of Education, National University of Tainan, Taiwan (Curriculum and Instruction related fields)

1.Position: Assistant Professor or higher (one vacancy) in the Department of Education.

2.Commencement Date: February 1, 2027.

3. Qualifications:
(1) Educational Background
Must hold one of the following academic qualifications:
a.Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Curriculum and Instruction or a related field, recognized by the Ministry of Education, from a domestic or international institution. (Applicants who have passed the doctoral dissertation defense but have not yet received the degree certificate must provide official proof of having passed the defense, along with a letter from their dissertation advisor.)
b.Possession of a Ph.D. degree in a field other than Curriculum and Instruction, recognized by the Ministry of Education, from a domestic or international institution. Applicants in this category must have at least three years of teaching or research experience at a university, college, or K–12 school, and must provide relevant supporting documents.
(2) Academic Expertise
Specialization in Curriculum and Instruction or closely related fields is preferred.
(3) Research Performance
Since 2021, applicants must have published or had accepted at least two academic journal papers in nationally or internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals. (If accepted, please provide supporting evidence).
(4) Professional Experience
Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in teacher training, educational internship, and practical teaching experience.
(5) English-Medium Instruction (EMI)
Applicants must be capable of teaching in English and are required to offer at least one English-taught or EMI course per semester.
(6) Teaching Responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to support teaching in courses such as "Development of Child and Adolescent ", " Guidance Principle and Practice ", "Educational Psychology", and" Career Planning".

4. The date of acceptance:
(1) From now until June 9, 2026 (as evidenced by the postmark), applications should be sent by registered mail or delivered in person to the Personnel Office of the university. Please add the text "Application for the Position of Professional Teacher in Curriculum and Instruction, Department of Education" on the cover.

5. Document Submission:
(1) Consent Form for the Provision of Personal Data for Applicants for Full-Time Faculty Positions at National University of Tainan.
(2) Affidavit Regarding Whether the Prospective (or Current) Appointee Has Household Registration in Mainland China or Holds a Mainland China Passport, Identity Card, Settlement Certificate, or Residence Permit.
(3) One photocopy of each graduation certificate above bachelor's degree.
(4) One photocopy of both sides of the national identification card.
※The following documents should be compiled into two sets.
(5) The transcripts for Master's and Ph.D. degrees.
(6) The "Application Form for Faculty Position at National University of Tainan".
(7) Photocopies of documents verifying relevant work experience.
(8) The Ph.D. dissertation.
(9) Excerpts or photocopies of significant research publications officially published since 2021.
(10) Provide syllabi for courses the applicant is qualified to teach. At least three of the following course syllabi must be included: "Development of Child and Adolescent ", " Guidance Principle and Practice ", "Educational Psychology", and" Career Planning".
(11) Any additional materials that may contribute to the evaluation (such as photocopies of certificates for elementary or secondary school teaching qualifications, or certificates for Assistant Professor or higher).
6. Remarks:
(1) Candidates shortlisted for interviews are required to conduct a teaching demonstration in English.
(2) Newly appointed full-time faculty members are required to undertake administrative duties for a period of two years.
(3) Newly appointed faculty members are expected to assist in teaching arrangements for graduate program courses in the Department.
(4) Newly appointed faculty members must teach at least one English-Medium Instruction (EMI) course each semester..
(5) For this position, the faculty member may be required, when necessary, to hold a joint appointment with the Teacher Education Center.
