GLORIA SUCESSFULLY CREATES INNOVATIVE BUSINESSES IN BOSTON

Global Research & Industry Alliance (GLORIA) delegation, led by Fong-Chin Su, Former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Taiwan, headed to Boston in USA, the world’s top cluster of biotechnology and medical industry. Assisted by Science and Technology Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston, GLORIA held a business partnering fair and networking with more than one hundred local industries in order to recruit global members and then boost university and industry R&D capacity. This partnering fair successfully promoted 137 rounds of business discussions and signed four contracts of university-industry innovative cooperation. GLORIA successfully penetrated US east coast market!


GLORIA has been initiated and promoted by MOST of Taiwan since September 2017. Twenty alliances has been established covering advanced technology fields of Semiconductor, Artificial Intelligence, Finance Technology, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Smart Machinery, Intelligent Agriculture, Aquaculture, and Intelligent Education. Nowadays, there are 300 well-known companies participating as GLORIA members, 2,645 cases of university-industry cooperation and technology transfer, and more than 1.7 billion NTD industry funding towards universities.


Providing advanced technology and innovative services, GLORIA proactively creates values for members and receives great appreciation from remarkable international companies, including Cambridge Blockchain and Gamma Paradigm Capital both signing MOU with National Chengchi University (NCCU), and KANG Healthcare signing MOU with Taipei Medical University, all on October 23, 2019. Cambridge Blockchain, the first blockchain company invested by PayPal the leading global payment enterprise, even signed diamond member contract with NCCU the same day. As for Gamma Paradigm Capital and KANG Healthcare, they are respectively the excess return company receiving Morgan Stanley Award for Excellence and the world’s first Chinese Medicine digital diagnosis company.


Assisted by the networking of Science and Technology Division in Boston, GLORIA delegation visited world leading organizations including IBM Watson Research Center, MIT, NYC Media Lab, and Columbia Technology Venture, successfully providing foresight vision and innovation for GLORIA’s international deployment. Furthermore, IBM Watson research center expressed, during the visit, strong intention to cooperate with GLORIA on clinic research data, financial data, and healthcare data. Both sides will follow up the discussion with MOST to realize this significant win-win cooperation.


After obtaining great success in Boston, MOST will take the chance to lead GLORIA delegation toward Silicon Valley on October 25, 2019. The mission is to partner with the world’s top organizations and companies for strengthening GLORIA’s core competence on international deployment.
