I. Position Title & Vacancies: One to Two Tenure-Track Faculty Positions (Assistant Professor or above).
1. Newly hired faculty members will initially be appointed as project-based faculty to undergo an evaluation period before receiving a formal tenure-track appointment. However, candidates with outstanding academic achievements may be exempt from this requirement.
2. Once they satisfy the department's evaluation criteria and other applicable requirements, they will be appointed to a tenure-track position beginning in the following semester.
3. To facilitate the transition of project-based faculty members to tenure-track positions, eligible faculty members may apply for a reduction of two hours in their weekly teaching load, reducing the required teaching load for assistant professors to seven hours per week. II. Effective Date of Employment: February 1, 2027 (Spring Semester, Academic Year 2026–2027).
III. Qualifications
1. A Ph.D. degree from a domestic or foreign university in a relevant field (including Statistics, Computer Science, Information Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines).
2. Areas of Expertise: Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Multimedia Computing, Cloud Computing, Information Security, FinTech, Business Analytics, Machine Learning, Intelligent Systems, or closely related fields.
IV. Required Documents
1. Completed Application Form (using the attached template).
2. Identification and Supporting Documents:
(1) A copy of the applicant's National ID card or passport.
(2) A copy of the diploma for the applicant's highest degree.
For degrees awarded outside Taiwan, the diploma must be authenticated by an ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission, including:
(a) A copy of the diploma authenticated by an ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission.
(b) An official transcript authenticated by an ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission.
(c) A completed "Record of Period of Study Abroad for Foreign Degree Verification for Teacher Qualification." (Download template: https://web-ch.scu.edu.tw/personnel/file/1288/12980).
(d) A Certificate of Entry and Exit Dates and immigration records issued by the National Immigration Agency, Ministry of the Interior.
For degrees awarded in Taiwan, the diploma copy must bear the Registrar's certification as a true copy.
(3) A copy of the Ministry of Education Teacher Certificate, if applicable. Applicants who have not yet obtained the certificate are exempt from this requirement.
3. Representative Publications and Complete List of Publications: One copy of up to five representative publications and a complete list of publications.
4. Curriculum Vitae (CV) and Personal Statement: The CV should include the applicant's Chinese name (if applicable), educational background, professional experience, areas of research expertise, a list of publications, and contact information. Applicants are encouraged to provide a contact person in Taiwan, if available.
5. Transcripts: Official transcripts for all Master's and Ph.D. degree programs attended.
6. Letters of Recommendation: At least one letter of recommendation and up to three letters.
7. Syllabi: Syllabi for courses the applicant is qualified to teach.
8. Other Supporting Documents: Any additional supporting materials that may assist the review committee in evaluating the application.
