Tenure-Track Faculty Positions
National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), one of the top leading research universities in Taiwan, invites applications for multiple faculty and research positions, including post-doctoral researcher, assistant professor, full professor, and chair professor, in the Institute of Pioneer Semiconductor Innovation (IPSI). IPSI is part of the newly established Industry Academia Innovation School (IAIS) in NYCU, with major focuses on innovations in semiconductor materials and packaging, semiconductor devices and process technology, and design/EDA of integrated circuits. NYCU has impressive track records in training semiconductor and engineering talents and incubating semiconductor and IT companies in Taiwan. IPSI and IAIS of NYCU further established a new industry‐academia co‐creation model to unleash disruptive innovation and productization in semiconductor and AI system technologies, in conjunction with talent and leader development. IPSI/IAIS/NYCU is located at the “Taiwan Silicon Valley”, within minutes to world‐class semiconductor companies and supply chain leaders. IPSI faculty and students can access key research facilities and equipment next door, including the Nano Fabrication Center of NYCU, the 8” pilot line at Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI) and its Center for IC design (CIC), Synchrotron lab, National Instrument Center, etc.
We seek exceptional candidates who aspire to establish and sustain top-notch research programs in collaboration with world-class semiconductor industry partners in Taiwan as well as international partners in the following areas:
1.Semiconductor Materials and Packaging (Materials for advanced integrated circuits, 2D semiconductor materials, hetergenuos integration, 3D IC packaging, reliability of microelectronic packaging, materias for high power devices, etc.)
2.Semiconductor Devices and Process Technology (angstron-scale semiconductor devices and processes, More-than-Moore devices and processes, wide-bandgap devices, memory devices, process and device modeling, quantum computing, integrated photonics, spintronic devices, terahertz/RF devices, power devices, sensor devices, etc.)
3.Design/EDA of Integrated Circuits (analog IC, digital IC, RF IC, power IC, communication IC, memory IC, image IC, biomedical IC, sensor IC, DSP IC, computer IC, VLSI implementaion, computer-aided design, EDA, etc. )

These positions will start on February 1, 2025, or on a mutually agreed date thereafter. Faculty members are expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, and mentor undergraduate/graduate/post-doctoral researchers. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree, or the equivalent, in electrical and computer engineering, physics, materials science, or a related field. We provide competitive compensation and benefits packages to qualified candidates, including research lab/project start-up support.
