National University of Tainan Department of Music New Full-time/Project Teacher Recruitment Guidelines

1. Vacancy:1 full-time/project teacher position at the level of Assistant Professor (or higher).

2. Expected Start Date:August 1, 2025 (subject to the schedule).

3. Qualifications:
(1) Education: Doctoral degree in a music-related field from a domestic or foreign institution recognized by the Ministry of Education. Candidates holding
an Assistant Professor (or higher) certification from the Ministry of Education
are preferred.
(2) Academic Expertise: Ability to teach courses in musicology, music history,
thesis writing guidance, and related subjects.
(3) Ability to teach in EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) is required.
(4) At least one year of relevant teaching experience.
(5) Experience in research project proposal applications and the ability to teach teacher training courses is preferred. Provide relevant materials if needed.

4. Application Deadline:
(1) Date of receipt: From now until May 13, 2025 (Postmark is required as proof, personal delivery is not accepted.).
(2) Mailing Address: Please send applications by registered mail to the following address: "Personnel Office, National Tainan University, 33, Section 2, Shulin Street, West Central District, Tainan City, 70005." On the envelope, please indicate "Application for Full-time/Project Teacher Position in the Department of Music."

5. Required Documents:
(1) One copies of the Bachelor's and higher degree certificate (For candidates with foreign doctoral degrees, please submit degree certification or provisional
graduation certificate and transcripts to the overseas office for certification
procedures).
(2) One copy of the front and back of the National ID card or Passport.
(3) National Tainan University Teacher Application form (attached). In addition to the paper version, please send the electronic version via email to
taciturn@mail.nutn.edu.tw.
(4) Copy of the teaching certification (if applicable).
(5) Copy of the military discharge certificate or exemption certificate (if applicable).
(6) For candidates holding an Assistant Professor (or higher) certification, please provide one copy of the teaching certification.
(7) For candidates without an Assistant Professor certification, please provide
three copies of the doctoral thesis (or other works) related to the highest degree earned. As degree requirements vary by institution, applicants should submit complete documents according to the regulations of their degree-granting
institution.
(8) Personal basic information, including educational and work experience
(including academic/professional organizations), areas of expertise, and
current/future research directions.
(9) Provide at least three relevant publications or journal articles from peer
reviewed journals, including their table of contents.
(10) Provide relevant works published in TSSCI, THCI, SSCI, or equivalent
journals (please indicate the relevant journals).
(11) Course syllabi for subjects you are capable of teaching, including at least music history, musicology, and thesis writing guidance.
(12) Any other documents that may be beneficial for the review process.

6. Notes:
(1) If fewer than 10 applicants apply, the recruitment period may be extended as needed.
(2) Applicants will be required to conduct an English-language teaching
demonstration.
(3) Newly hired full-time teachers are obligated to perform administrative duties for two years, including teaching one full English or EMI course per semester. Additionally, they are required to assist with continuing education courses in the department.
(4) The listed degrees must be from public universities or accredited private
universities (or recognized institutions) in Taiwan or abroad.
(5) Applicants must provide a list of submitted documents in order, and explain any missing materials for review purposes. Please keep a copy of all documents,
as they will not be returned after submission.
(6) If applicants wish to retrieve papers or works submitted, they must provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
