Faculty Positions Announcement
The School of Forestry and Resource Conservation, National Taiwan University, currently has one opening position in each of the following areas:
1. Phylogenetic Evolution of Plant Diversity
2. Forest Environmental Monitoring and Restoration
Position Type: Full-time Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor to begin on August 1, 2027.
Qualifications:
1. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in a related field of specialization. Teaching experience or postdoctoral research experience is highly desirable.
2. Applicants must have published papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. At least one paper must have been published (including electronic publications with assigned volume, issue, and page numbers) on or after August 1, 2022, in an SCI (or SSCI, A&HCI) journal, with the applicant as the first author or corresponding author.
Applicants are required to prepare the following documents (all in electronic format):
1. A cover letter and curriculum vitae, specifying the field of specialization applied for and the academic rank applied (i.e., Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor).
2. Certified copy of Ph.D. degree certificate.
3. Applicants for the Assistant Professor level must submit official academic transcripts from all graduate schools. If the graduate institution does not require coursework, a statement signed by the advisor should be provided.
4. List of publications submitted for review (following the format specified by the department's website) and full-text electronic files of all submitted publications. The submitted publications must be peer-reviewed journal papers published on or after August 1, 2020. Applicant must designate one publication as the representative publication in the above list of publications, which must meet all of the following criteria:
(1) The content must correspond to the applied field of specialization.
(2) Must be a research paper published in an SCI (or SSCI, A&HCI) journal.
(3) The applicant must be the first author or corresponding author.
(4) Published on or after August 1, 2022, with assigned volume, issue, and page numbers in print or electronic form.
(5) Should there be one or more co-authors with the representative publication, the applicant must submit a consent form signed by the co-authors.
(6) Applicants for the position at the rank of Assistant Professor may designate their doctoral dissertation as their representative publication, provided that the dissertation was completed after August 1, 2022.
5. Applicants for the Assistant Professor level must also submit an electronic copy of the Ph.D. dissertation.
6. A summary of research accomplishments and future research objectives.
7. Applicants must submit at least one course syllabus related to the area of the applied of specialization, as follows:
(1) Phylogenetic Evolution of Plant Diversity: Dendrology and Practice, Plant Taxonomy, Forest Ecology, Evolution of Woody Plant Phylogenetics, Woody Plant Phylogenomics.
(2) Forest Environmental Monitoring and Restoration: Forest Environmental Monitoring and Restoration, Investigation and Analysis of Forest Stream Water Quality, Stream Ecology and Nutrient Cycling, Watershed Management.
