The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Taiwan University announces one non-tenure track position in English (英文專案教師). Initial appointment will be made on a one-year basis starting from August 1, 2026. Renewal of contract will be based on availability of funds and upon recommendation by the review committee.
Minimum Qualifications: Highly proficient English speaker with at least an MA in English, TESOL, or related fields with university teaching experience; experience in teaching English L2 speakers preferred. Minimum of one academic monograph, which may include MA or PhD thesis, or two academic papers, all of which must be published after August 2021.
Teaching Load: at least 16 hours of language skills courses (Freshman English, Writing and Oral Training) per week.
Salary and Rank: starting monthly salary is around NT$64,850 (approximately US$2,135; subject to exchange rates) for instructors, and NT$83,720 (approximately US$2,755) for assistant professors; subject to 18% income tax for those who hold a foreign passport and reside in Taiwan less than 183 days in a calendar year. Other benefits include family health insurance, and subsidized university housing (subject to availability).
