The Department of Environmental Engineering, National Cheng Kung University, invites applications of
candidates for one to three tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level,
depending on the qualifications, with the expected appointment beginning on February1st, 2026. Both young
and established engineers/scientists with an Ph.D. degree in environmental or related disciplines are
encouraged to apply. Applicants with research experience in areas of Environmental Engineering and the
ability to offer related courses, are especially preferred. Please note that applicants who have not yet officially
obtained their Ph.D. certificate should not apply. The successful candidate will supervise master's and
doctoral students in research within their field of expertise, offer at least one course taught entirely in English
each academic year, and be able to teach at least two core courses of the department as well as fundamental
undergraduate courses.
The accepted applicants will have the opportunity to apply for the “National Cheng Kung University
Implementation Directions Regarding the Merit Pay and Research Reward Program for Faculty Members
and Research Fellows”. Additionally, they will be eligible for the “Class of 69 Alumni and Friends of Class
1980 ESG Young Scholars Award,” which will be conferred by the Department of Environmental
Engineering with a maximum amount of NT$30,000 per month for 3 years.

below no later than May 21th, 2025 (GMT+8). Applicants submitting via email should compile their
materials into a single PDF file (except for letters of recommendation). The application package must contain
a Ph.D. certificate (scanned originals), a cover letter, up to three reprints of publications from the past five
years (one of which should be designated as the representative publication; this representative publication
must have been officially published after August 1, 2020), a statement of teaching interests and the tentative
titles of courses to be offered, a statement of the applicant’s research vision and contact information of three
recommenders and their letters of recommendation. (The letters of recommendation should be provided after
passing the first stage of the initial selection.). The Ph.D. diploma and transcripts must be authenticated by
the Taiwan Embassy if the candidate holds a Ph.D. degree conferred by an institute outside Taiwan.
