NTU x Israel Partners Matchmaking online Workshop

National Taiwan University on May 18, 2022, hosted the first-ever NTU x Israel Partners Matchmaking online Workshop to promote continued collaborations between NTU and its partner universities in Israel. Distinguished professors from NTU joined with professors from Tel Aviv University | אוניברסיטת תל-אביב, הטכניון - מכון טכנולוגי לישראל | Technion, and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem for discussion sessions where they presented their research and exchanged ideas. More than 30 top scholars from these universities, representing 7 different fields, participated. 


NTU President Prof. Chung-Ming Kuan attended the event and gave opening remarks, sharing excitement about the growing relationship between Israel and Taiwan. The NTU Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Hsiao-Wei Yuan, also attended the event, talking about recent efforts to internationalize education, including the launching of the International Collaboration Seed Funding program. 


Also in attendance was Mr. Omar Caspi, Representative of the Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, and Ms. Ya-Ping Lee, Representative of the Taipei and Economic Culture Office in Tel Aviv, as well as Prof. Reem Sari, the Vice President for Research and Development at the Hebrew University of Technology, Prof. Milette Shamir, the Vice President of Tel Aviv University, and Prof. Alon Wolf, the Vice President for External Relations and Resource Development at the Israel Institute of Technology. 


This successful online workshop is another example of how National Taiwan University continues to adapt its internationalization strategies during the global pandemic. With modern software, holding online workshops like this one strengthens international partnerships and collaborations.
