The Science and Technology Division (STD) at Taipei Representative Office in the UK (TROUK) is one of the 18 oversea offices of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), Taiwan. The director of STD represents the NSTC in the regions that it covers. The STD at TROUK was established on 1 March 1995, covering the affairs in the UK, Ireland, Iceland, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates. It aims to promote scientific and technical cooperation, involving collaboration between researchers, institutions, funding agencies and governments, to advance knowledge and innovation through the sharing of resources, expertise and projects, to promote global progress and address complex challenges, mainly through bilateral agreements and matchmaking activities.

The UK is one of the world's leaders in scientific and technological advancement, while Taiwan has its advantages in R&D and mobility. In the UK, STD will continue to build on existing collaborations and further explore new opportunities for mutual benefit.
