Overall purpose:
To work within the group of Dr Lori Passmore at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), within a programme aimed at understanding biogenesis of mRNA poly(A) tails. Specifically, to undertake research to investigate how mRNA 3’ ends are formed and how this is coupled with transcription termination. This project will use biochemical reconstitution and structural biological methods alongside other complementary techniques.
Within the overall direction of the programme, the group, the remit of the project and in discussion with the Group Leader, you will make a significant input into determining the direction of the project within a three year lifespan.
Working relationships:
You will report to Dr Lori Passmore and will interact and collaborate with other Postdoctoral Scientists, Research Support staff and students, not only in your group, but also across the LMB and with external groups as necessary.
Academic qualifications:
These should include a PhD in a relevant subject or due to complete PhD within 6 months.
Technical skills and expertise:
Experience of and ability to perform techniques relevant to the project including cryoEM (single particle or tomography), protein expression/purification and biophysical methods. Particularly useful would be experience working with RNA.
聘期：Full time, Fixed term for 3 years
薪資待遇：£41,344 per annum
